I don't consider myself a master carpenter. That includes rough and finish carpentry, but I can get around in a wood shop. You know, after the lake house remodel, that I can gut and finish a house. I'm not fond of trimwork, as that's pretty detailed. So I try to stay away from that if I can. Here's some stuff I've made, fixed, etc. around the house(s).
I like woodworking, but mostly with motorized tools as this gets me to an end result
with more accuracy and faster (which is the goal right?)
For example, I built a new swinging bench using a router,
chopsaw, and table saw and sander. The wordwook went quick
the painting of the metal bench and multiple coats of
lacquer took the longest. Did I say I HATE painting and
staining?
That project turned out well, so I had a swing around the firepit that the cloth basically
rotted away only after a year or so. So I made the support out of wood and can use
the existing padding. It turned out ok. I just used some stain I had laying around.
